They felt good right away. No-show socks help with the break-in period, especially since my feet get sweaty. Top-quality leather, so it’s much more comfortable than breaking in plastic-based shoes. Also, they’re already distressed so your feet just slide in.
How do they perform over time?
Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about getting them dirty. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and they’ve held up beautifully. The laces are intact, and the shape stayed solid. Since the aesthetic is distressed, I can’t even tell if there’s new wear and tear.
How are they vs. other brands?
Nothing else compares in comfort or quality. I’ve tried others like Vejas, but Golden Goose still come out on top. They have a hidden arch lift that adds support and height — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re not mass-produced, so each pair is one of a kind. And the shine on mine? Absolutely gorgeous.
Would you recommend them?
Yes! Just try not to pay full price. They’re expensive, so getting them with a promo is smarter. I’d pay several hundred for the quality, especially if you pick something you’ll wear a lot. I went bold with sparkle, but a minimalist version would also be smart.
